What does Flex Scorebook cost?

Scorekeeping is free and always will be. A coach never pays. Families can read the box score, the play-by-play and every game log for free too. Batting averages, the full rankings board, weekly movement and the shareable card are part of Flex Scorebook Plus at $49.99 a year, or the FPA + Flex Bundle at $89.99.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It runs in your phone's browser. You can add it to your home screen so it opens full screen like an app — on iPhone, open flexscorebook.com in Safari, tap Share, scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.

Who should create the account, the coach or a parent?

Accepted Answer

The coach. He creates the team and the roster. Parents then claim their own daughter from a link he shares, and from that point her profile belongs to her family.

Can I use it for baseball?

No. It is built for fastpitch rules specifically — DP and FLEX, courtesy runners, re-entry, illegal pitch, and the run rules of each sanctioning body.

Does it work without signal?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every tap is written to your phone before the network is touched. Lose service in the third inning and keep scoring — it uploads when service returns. Closing the app, reloading, or a flat battery will not lose plays.

What happens if I make a mistake?

Undo the last play. Corrections are recorded rather than erased, so the book keeps an honest history of what was changed.

Do I have to set a lineup before I start?

Yes. Scoring is blocked until your batting order exists, because a play recorded with no batter cannot be attributed to anyone.

How do I handle a courtesy runner?

Use the courtesy runner button. She does not enter the game and the batting order does not change — which is how fastpitch treats it, and is why it is not a substitution.

How do I move fielders around without substituting?

Use Defensive change. It moves players between positions without touching the batting order or affecting re-entry eligibility.

Does it know the run rule?

Yes. Set the sanctioning body on the team and the game ends when the rule says so — USSSA, USA Softball, NSA, USFA, PGF and NFHS each have their own.

No. You can score the whole game without naming a single opposing player.

What is the fielder and trajectory step for?

It records who fielded the ball and how it was hit. That is what makes fielding statistics and spray charts possible later, and it cannot be reconstructed after the fact.

No, and it never will be. Neither is the start time. One parent cannot consent for eleven other families to publishing where twelve girls will be on a Saturday morning.

Why do some players show only a jersey number?

Until a parent claims her, an athlete is shown by jersey number and position only. Her name is not published. It appears once her family has claimed her and chosen to make her profile public.

Can Google find my team page?

Yes. The page is built so search engines can read it, and it produces a proper preview when you paste the link into a group chat.

How do I add players?

Add each girl with a first name, last name and jersey number. That is all you need to start scoring.

What is a claim link?

A private link that hands a player's record to her family. Share them in your team group chat. When a parent taps her daughter's link and confirms, the record becomes hers.

Should I post claim links publicly?

No. Send them through a private team channel only. Anyone with the link could claim that child.

What can I still change after a parent claims her?

Her jersey number. Her name, photograph, biography, visibility and academics belong to her family from that point, and the system enforces that rather than relying on good manners.

Someone claimed the wrong girl. Can it be undone?

Yes. You can undo a claim from your roster. It returns her profile to private and revokes the consent that claim created.

A player left the team mid-season. What happens to her stats?

The games she played stay in the book. Her record of those games does not disappear because she moved clubs.

Where do the statistics come from?

Only from games kept in Flex Scorebook and finalised. Nobody types them in afterwards, and nothing is self-reported.

When you end the game. Each girl's line is written at that moment and lands on her Fastpitch Authority profile.

I finalised a game with a mistake in it. Can it be fixed?

Yes. Correct the play and re-finalise. The statistics are recomputed rather than duplicated.

Why can I see averages but a parent cannot?

Counting stats — at bats, hits, home runs, RBI — are free. Averages and rate statistics are part of Flex Scorebook Plus.

How does a girl get ranked?

From the games her coach scored. She needs a minimum number of plate appearances in a season to appear at all.

No. Every athlete over the minimum is ranked whether her family pays or not — a rank means nothing unless it is measured against the whole field. What a subscription buys is seeing the other names on the board, not a better position.

No. Subscription status and event attendance are excluded from every ranking calculation. Rank is not for sale in any form.

My daughter went 3 for 3 and is not near the top. Why?

Rates are adjusted for how little a player has played. Three at bats is pulled toward the league average; eighty is not. It stops one good afternoon topping a board, and it means a hot start settles into reality over a season rather than collapsing in a week.

No. Rankings need games in the book. Until enough have been scored in a season, boards stay empty rather than showing something meaningless.

No. All subscription purchases are final, including partial or unused terms. Cancelling stops the next renewal but does not refund the term you have already paid for. If you were charged in error, email support@fastpitchauthority.com and we will look into it.

Who can see my daughter's information?

Her family controls it. Her profile is private unless her family publishes it, and an athlete under 13 is never visible to college coaches — that is enforced in the database, not just hidden in the app.

Can a coach publish my daughter's profile?

No. He can edit her jersey number and the sporting facts of an unclaimed player. Visibility, photographs, biography and academics are the family's alone.

Can I have her record deleted?

Tell your coach first — he can correct the play and re-finalise. If the number still looks wrong, email us with the team and the game.
